In certain cases it is possible to increase the weight type rating of a trailer by a few hundred kg, depending on the type of braking system fitted to it. The information you need to have is the type of drawbar, wheel brakes, tyre dimensions and the weight that you want the trailer to type-rated for. If the trailer cannot be uprated, both the draw bar and the wheel brakes must be changed.
